Why are your 20s so weird, directionless and mysterious?

Understanding 20s...

If I had to sum up being in your 20s using one song, it would be that song from 3 Idiots:

“Confusion hi confusion hain, solution kuch pata nahi, solution jo mila par question kya tha pata nahi”

Doesn’t that sum up being in your 20s? 🥴

But why are your 20s so weird, directionless, and mysterious?

Well well, we all are decoding but here is my take.

In your 20s, your 3H’s (head, heart, and hormones), are playing their best shots within you.😐

You are hearing the success stories of Warren Buffet, thinking you have a lot of time.
But, the classmate (who used to cheat from you) just posted their Mckinsey offer letter.

You are still not sure about your favorite nacho flavor
But your relatives want you to be sure of your career.

You are watching your parents grow old, and wondering what will happen to your back (which is an already messed up relationship) when you hit 50.

Some of your friends are getting married,
others are going through their worst breakup,
and you are still a ‘forever single’.

Urgh!😤
A lot to read, even more to handle!

But do you really need to think this much?

NO!
Because believe me, we are all sinking together in the 20s boat, and our only life jacket is a good TMKOC episodes (of course, the old ones)

You still have time.
A lot of it.

Your parents might disagree with this.

But that is because their generation was different.

Back then, ~65% of people had crossed the traditionally set milestones (completing school, leaving home, gaining financial independence, marrying, and having a kid) by 30.

But the equation has changed now.

So my boomerang generation, sit for a minute, let your anxiety sink, and let your doubts fade away. 🧘🏻‍♀️

The darkness of your 20s will soon go away and the light of a more ‘settled’ decade will hit. (Your back pain still won’t go away though)
